Linkpad Privacy Policy

Last updated: 31 October 2026

Linkpad is developed by Shirish Koirala. This policy explains how the Linkpad mobile app and desktop server handle information.

Information handled by Linkpad

Linkpad does not currently include advertising, analytics or third-party crash-reporting services. No account is required.

Linkpad connects your phone directly to a paired computer over your local network. To provide its features, it processes:

  • Mouse movements, clicks, scrolling, keyboard input and remote-control commands.
  • Local network addresses and connection information.
  • Device identities, certificates and pairing information used to authenticate connections.
  • Your saved computers and app preferences.

Keyboard input and control commands are sent to the computer you choose to control. They are not sent to a Linkpad cloud service.

Information stored on your devices

Linkpad stores settings, saved computer details and authentication information locally on your phone and computer. Private authentication material uses platform secure storage where supported.

Saved pairing information allows previously trusted devices to reconnect. You can remove saved computers or revoke paired devices using the available app and server controls.

Camera access

Linkpad requests camera access to scan pairing QR codes displayed by the desktop server. QR scanning is used to establish a connection. Linkpad does not upload camera images to a developer-operated service.

Local network access

Linkpad uses local network access to discover nearby servers and communicate with your paired computer. Your devices must be able to reach one another over the network.

Sharing and security

Linkpad does not sell your information or use it for advertising or tracking.

Connections use encryption and certificate verification to authenticate paired devices. Keep pairing codes private and only pair with computers you trust.

Retention and deletion

Locally saved settings and pairing information remain until removed through the app, cleared using operating-system controls, or deleted from the relevant device. Uninstalling an app may leave information retained by platform secure storage or device backups.

Removing a saved computer from your phone does not necessarily revoke that phone’s access on the desktop server. Revoke the paired device on the server when you want to remove its authorization.

Support

If you contact us or submit a GitHub issue, we receive the information you choose to provide. Public GitHub issues are visible to others and are subject to GitHub’s privacy policy. Do not include pairing secrets, private keys or sensitive keyboard input.
